Chino Cloth (Cotton Twill)

Chino cloth is a mid-weight cotton (or cotton-blend) twill with a smooth face and subtle diagonal rib, descended from military trousers. Weight drives everything: a lightweight ~7 oz chino is a summer trouser that wrinkles and can go semi-sheer under strain, while a substantial 9–11 oz twill holds a crease, drapes cleanly, and survives real wear. A touch of elastane (1–3%) adds comfort stretch without turning it into activewear. On a spec sheet, chino weight and fiber content predict both how the trouser drapes and how many seasons it lasts far better than the styling.
