Collar Roll
Collar roll is the gentle arc a button-down collar makes between the collar points and the buttons, rather than lying flat. A good roll is prized on OCBDs: it looks relaxed and intentional and holds shape without fusing or stiff interlining. It comes from unlined or lightly lined collars cut with enough length. Overly stiff, flat collars — often heavily fused — read cheap to enthusiasts even on otherwise fine shirts. It is a small detail with outsized influence on how a casual shirt looks, and one you can judge instantly from a straight-on collar photo.
